Theme 2: System Design

Theme Leader: Dr. Hossam Hassanein, School of Computing, Queen’s University

Project research will investigate issues related to large scale deployment of WiSense for a multiplicity of applications, including ubiquitous monitoring and surveillance systems, target monitoring, network-centric security, etc. To this end, we address reliable data delivery, including reliability enhancements at the MAC, network, transport and application layers. We will also investigate energy-efficient protocols and algorithms in order to extend the network lifetime.

Theme 2 Research Projects:
  1. Reliable Data Delivery Protocols: Project Leaders Dr. Glen Takahara and Dr. Hossam Hassanein, School of Computing, Queen’s University
  2. Energy Efficient Communication Protocols and Algorithms: Project Leader Dr. Hussein Mouftah, SITE, University of Ottawa
  3. Cost Effective System Design: Project Leader Dr. Hossam Hassanein, School of Computing, Queen’s University
